It is important to me that I offer a comfortable, empathic, and non-judgemental environment to support our discussions.
Research has shown that the therapeutic relationship is key to support change. Therefore, sessions aim to offer an environment and conversation where you feel safe and heard. All approaches are trauma-informed, as it is understood that difficult past experiences can often contribute to current struggles. In line with this approach, questions tend to be more within the realms of understanding ‘what has happened?’, rather than ‘what is wrong?’. Approaches are also neurodivergent-affirming, and recognising the strengths in all individuals and helping people to thrive.
Appointments and therapeutic approaches are formulation led. This means that time is taken when working with you (or the family) to create a shared understanding into the current struggles, and to support you in identifying achievable ways to help you make change.
